Centre for Process Integration

Impact

Our work is internationally recognised for the development of a range of process design methods and tools that have been successfully applied around the world.

Energy pinch analysis, the most established of these, is practiced industrially worldwide and is now routinely part of chemical engineering curricula across the globe.

We have also produced a range of process design and integration methodologies in the context of utility systems (steam, cooling water and power), reactions, separations, reactive separations, petroleum refining, gas processing and biochemical processes.

Since 2001 we have executed 22 EU projects involving 156 partners from 29 countries and corresponding to research funding of €3.4 million.
